On Wednesday evening at the conference, I called out who wanted to wake up with me at five in the morning and go see the sunrise in Calanques. The offer was met with little enthusiasm, but one person said he would try to come, and another said he would think about it. We agreed to meet at 5:05 near the terrace.
After forcing myself to wake up at 4:56, I was able to arrive at the appointed place almost on time, one minute late. Both companions, Andreas and Victor really joined in, at 5:10.
So, we went and actually managed to meet the sunrise on the mountain!
First rays of sun
You can see Marseille from here
An island in the form of a dragon
A nice gradient in the sky
The sun is looking from behind of the mountain
The hills on the opposite side are starting to be sun-coloured
The sun is starting to illuminate Marseille
We reached the top of the mountain around 6am
I love the rocks
^^
Andreas and Victor are watching the shadow from Mont Puget
In around half an hour it became even brighter
Before we started descending, a cloud appeared
You can see the sun through the cloud
The air inside the cloud is humid and pleasant
